About Asbestos Garage Roofs
Most garages built in the UK before 2000 were roofed with corrugated asbestos cement sheets. At the time it was the standard material — cheap, durable, and widely available. The problem is that as these sheets age, they become brittle and begin to break down. When disturbed or damaged, they can release asbestos fibres into the air. Asbestos cement is classified as a lower-risk bonded material, but under UK law it must be handled, transported and disposed of correctly. As Upper Tier Waste Carriers registered with the Environment Agency, we handle every job to the letter of the law — and provide a waste transfer note as standard.
